The Chargers were charter members
of the AFL in 1960. With a tremendous offensive attack,
the team claimed five division titles in its first six seasons
and won the 1963 AFL championship. The late 1970s and
early 1980s again saw the Chargers field one of pro football's
great offenses. San Diego's winning ways returned in the
1990s with a berth in Super Bowl XXIX following the 1994 season.
